A.   Game

What is the issue?
Nowdays almost all students of either elementary, junior high school, senior high school, or even university play game in their spart time. It will be good if they just play it for fun and refreshing their mind. But it will be a big problem when they are addicted so that they play all the time without thinking their study at school. From this fenomena I am interested in using game as a media of studying english due to the fact that most games have English as the mediator language. Finally I write “Improving studens’ English skill by using games as media” as the title of final project.

Criticize with the theory.
Content-based,Task-based, and Participatory Aproahes is one of teaching theories which can be used based on this topic. In this theory students will learn to use English while using English to learn it (Howatt 1984:279).  Of course, while playing game students will deal with intruction in English and they have to understand so they can play it. In this section the teacher will ask the students to write review of what they play in English.

How is the quality?
I believe students will be interested in playing game. Some of them could try to be the first winner in that game. It’s all about the competence of the teacher to look at their situation. And if he succeed the students skill of English will improve much.

B.    Pronounciation

What is the issue?
Usually students especially in junior high school will hear and follow what the teacher pronounciate a words without making sure if it is right or wrong. The fact that still many English teachers make mistakes in pronounciating words is  such an embarrassing thing. From this I would like to make a lists of words to be reported how the teacher pronounciate them. The goal is to make the teachers be aware of their teaching so the students will not be a victim of their mistakes.

Criticize with theory
As a target language, indonesian people will have some problems to pronounciate words in English naturally (Ramelan 1999:4). That problem actually can be solved by getting use to pronounciate those words.

How is the quality?
That the goal is to correct the mistake made by teachers will help them to learn more and more before they teach. Automatically, it will decrease the possibility of making false from the students.
C.    Community Language Learning

What is the issue?
Nowdays the relationship between students and teacher is not good. students are not confident to ask the question to the teacher and the teacher also don’t care what the students need. “using Community Language Learning method to improve students’ comfort in learning English” is the title of final project acording to this issue.

Criticize the theory
The method we will examine is to consider the students as ‘whole person’. It means that teacher consider not only their students’ intellect, but also have some understandingof the relationship among students’ feeling, physical reaction, and desire to learn (Diane Larsen 2000:89).good environment will increase the mood of the students. This method is to make that good environment in the class.

How is the quality?
This methode will hel teacher to make a good relationship between him and the students. If it happens, the students will brave to ask what lesson they are confused. The students will be more active because they feel comfort in the class so they will get what they need among the English learning.

The Use of Photograph to Improve Students’ Mastery in Vocabulary

Statement of the problem
The problem that is discussed here is:
“to what extent do photograph contribute to the development of the ability in mastering vocabulary of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Semarang in the academic year 2010/2011?”
Objective of the study
1.      To what certain extent photograph contribute to the development of the ability in mastering vocabulary of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Semarang in the academic year 2010/2011.
2.      To give opportunities to the students to acquare vocabulary trough photograph.
3.      To develop the motivation of the students in learning vocabulary by using photograph.

Chapter 3
Research Design
The research method used in this study is a classroom action research. This research is conducted in the classroom. This activity contains two cycles. Each cycles has four elements: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting (Elliot 1991:70).

Data Collection
Techniques an methods used in this research are the following :

Chapter 4
Data Analysis
The data analysis was taken based on the scores of both pre-test and post-test. The average of the students’ result in thge pre-test was 55.3 and in the poet-test was 73.5.

Conclusion
Based on the data obtained, we can conclude that photographs have contribution to the development of the ability in learning vocabulary of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Semarang. The students are also interested and attracted to learn more vocabularies. It can be seen from the response of the students in learning when teacher uses some photograph.
